Marlies originates from Berlin and has lived in Australia since 2001. She graduated from the National Art School in Sydney in 2011. After graduation she moved to Bundaberg where she has continued her artistic career, originally working in mixed media she has been increasingly drawn towards pure collage work.

​

She has had many accolades in the last 10 years and recently won the prestigious Martin Hansen Art Award, for her piece “Physical Distancing”, the artwork was also purchased by the Gladstone Art Galley & Museum to form part of their permanent collection;

proof that collage widely accepted by the broader art community.
